A family favorite: Steak & Linguini Pasta with Creamy Tomato Basil Sauce Recipe

My kids grew up on Barilla Whole Grain noodles. It's one of the only things I could be guaranteed my picky eater little boy would eat! He always wanted pasta with butter for every meal and he still loves it but he adds some sauce on top now too!   He gave his thumbs up on our Steak & Linguini Pasta with Creamy Tomato Basil Sauce Recipe creation! Actually, he couldn't eat enough of it before it was gone!    You'll love how simple this dinner is to make because we will put a simple wet spice rub on the steak then a quick broil in the oven with our carrots right on the same baking pan! For the sauce we combine two bottles of sauces and add in a bit of sautéed onion and garlic. Then we add some fresh basil leaves for the finishing touch. Wha-la!! Dinner is right ready-to-go.   Steak and Linguini Pasta with Creamy Tomato Basil Sauce is SO simple to make plus healthy and delicious! www.cookingwithruthie.com

Ingredients in our Steak & Linguini Pasta with Creamy Tomato Basil Sauce Recipe

Beef: The heme iron in red meat is easily absorbed by the body. Red meat also supplies vitamin B12, which helps make DNA and keeps nerve and red blood cells healthy, and zinc, which keeps the immune system working properly. Red meat provides protein, which helps build bones and muscles. • Whole Grain Pasta: Whole-grain pasta is typically high in fiber, manganese, selenium, copper and phosphorus, while refined, enriched pasta tends to be higher in iron and B vitamins. Whole-grain pasta is also lower in calories and higher in fiber and certain micronutrients than refined pasta. • Onions- Onions not only provide flavor, they also provide important nutrients and health-promoting phytochemicals. High in vitamin C, onions are a good source of dietary fiber, and folic acid. They also contain calcium, iron, and have a high protein quality (ratio of mg amino acid/gram protein).Garlic- Garlic fights all types of infections—fungal, bacterial, parasitic, and viral—regulates blood sugar, lowers blood pressure, and lowers cholesterol, used widely as a flavoring in cooking, but it has also been used as a medicine throughout ancient and modern history.Olive Oil- is widely recognized as one of the world's healthiest oils. In fact, people tend to live longer and healthier lives in regions where olive oil is a staple part. It is rich in healthy monounsaturated fats, contains large amounts of antioxidants, strong anti-inflammatory properties, may help prevent strokes, protective against heart disease • Basil- is an excellent source of vitamin K, manganese, iron, vitamin A, and vitamin C. It's also a good source of calcium, magnesium, and omega-3 fatty acids. Carrots- are a particularly good source of beta carotene, fiber, vitamin K1, potassium, and antioxidants. They also have a number of health benefits. They're a weight-loss-friendly food and have been linked to lower cholesterol levels and improved eye health.

Steak & Linguini Pasta with Creamy Tomato Basil Sauce Recipe will be a favorite at your dinner table tonight!

It is January, the month noted for new goals, resolutions, hopes, and dreams. In order for any or all of those things to happen it also tends to be a month for habits to be rooted. This can mean old habits being revisited or new habits coming in to play. Either way, we are talking habits today.

We can get overwhelmed with all the things we want to change and/or do. Instead of letting yourself get overwhelmed off the bat take a minute to prioritize, start with a couple of goals you are hoping to achieve. Once you have decided on the goals break down what needs to happen in order for you to get there and make the choice to develop the habit needed to help you achieve!
