Fit Friday with Nichole

I am starting to see friends again and I love it! I spent the summer sneaking in friend visits, runs, workouts, coffee mornings, and wine nights whenever possible. It wasn't often. At the beginnning of the summer the goal was a run with friends once a week. Mid June hit and the goal was adjusted to a run or workout with friends. Before I knew it July hit and the goal was anything with friends once a week. By the end of July I was simply hoping for 10 minutes with anyone other than my kids. We are two weeks into school and I am starting to settle into a routine that involves some conversation with people old enough to drive, I love it!

This week we are grabbing our friends and heading to the gym for an awesome Tabata workout! Quick reminder of what Tabata is:

Each exercise in a given Tabata workout lasts only four minutes, but it's likely to be one of the longest four minutes you've ever endured. The structure of the program is as follows:

  • Work out hard for 20 seconds
  • Rest for 10 seconds
  • Complete 8 rounds

You push yourself as hard as you can for 20 seconds and rest for 10 seconds. This is one set. You'll complete eight sets of each exercise.

I highly encourage you to use Tabata music, there are a ton of playlists on Spotify. This will do your counting for you, no need to keep track of rounds or even time. And there are so many options you are bound to find some music that works for you.

One more thing before you go... We love creating recipes and sharing our adventures with you, so if you can do us a huge favor it’d really support us! It’s easier to stay motivated to share our best with you when we hear from you! We adore our readers and it really makes our day to get comments, social tags/shares, or pins that you save for later to share with your family and friends.  Our hearts sing when you do. We SEE you and we do our very best to respond to all the love! It also amps up our mo-jo so we get lots of awesome things done around here. Please reach out if you have questions or comments via our email: ruthie@cookingwithruthie.com. We’re excited to see you again soon!
